The rabbit toy is a collectible tool item in Amnesia: The Bunker. Its main use is for distracting the Beast.

Summary[]

According to Augustin Lambert's journal, the rabbit toy was bought as a gift to his son, having promised to bring something back from the front.[citation needed] It can be found and retrieved from the crater near where Lambert was found in the prologue of the game, having been dropped by Lambert during his patrol.

The rabbit toy still holds profound sentimental value to Lambert, even in his mutated form, and Henri Clément can throw it at the Stalker as a distraction. Doing so will cause it to cease its hunt and instead pick up the toy. After examining it, the Stalker will leave through the nearest hole, taking the toy with it. The toy can be retrieved from the altar in the chapel, and can be used again.

The toy can also be used to distract the Stalker during the finale of the game if left on one of the wooden bridges along the boss area. As before, the Stalker will pause and pick up the toy. If the player uses an explosive, they can destroy the bridge, sending the Stalker falling into the abyss below, presumably to his death at the hands of the Shadow.

Trivia[]

  • The rabbit toy is the second toy item in the Amnesia series.
  • The rabbit toy bears a resemblance to Peter Rabbit, with a blue jacket and shoes, this was likely intentional as Peter Rabbit was created in 1902, and by 1914 when the First World War began, the character of Peter Rabbit had already existed for 12 years.
