Petrol bombs are throwable items in Amnesia: The Bunker. The most useful strategy with the petrol bomb is to kill vermin, as well as to burn corpses, in order to keep vermin from returning to the area with the corpse. It can be used against the Beast to temporarily prevent it from moving, blocking its path with fire. It is craftable in two possible orders from the following three ingredients: one cloth, one fuel, and one empty bottle.

The petrol bomb requires the possession of the lighter to use as such.

The petrol bomb can be crafted from its three constituent ingredients in two possible orders, as follows:

First order[]

Second order[]

  • 1 fuel + 1 empty bottle = 1 fuel bottle;
  • 1 fuel bottle + 1 cloth = 1 petrol bomb.

  • In some selectable languages, such as Brazilian Portuguese, the petrol bomb is anachronistically named "molotov cocktail", a term that was only coined during the Winter War in 1939.[1]
  • While three possible orders of crafting a petrol bomb should theoretically be possible, in actuality, the third option is not allowed by Amnesia: The Bunker, since there is no item that can be crafted by adding the cloth to the fuel. Without this intermediary item, the hypothetical "fuel cloth", only the above two orders are possible, and so any player wishing to create a petrol bomb must initiate the crafting recipe with an empty bottle as one of the ingredients.
  • If a petrol bomb is thrown at and starts a fire underneath an explosive barrel, the barrel will explode after around 10 seconds of being heated.

  1. The name "Molotov cocktail" was coined by the Finns during the Winter War (Finnish: Molotovin cocktail) in 1939. The name was a pejorative reference to Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov, who was one of the architects of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact on the eve of World War II. -
