Mexico (Spanish: México [ˈmexiko]), formally the United Mexican States, is a country in North America, with coasts on both the Atlantic Ocean (via the Caribbean Sea) and the Pacific Ocean. It is the minor setting of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.

Information[]

Mexico is a federal republic in the southern part of North America.[1] It was formerly a colony of Spain, since the 1521 CE Spanish conquest of the native ruling Aztec Empire, then known as "New Spain" (Nueva España); Mexico officially and successfully declaring its independence in 1813 CE.[1] Mexico City is its longtime capital and its largest city.[1]

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs[]

Prior to the events of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Oswald Mandus and his sons undertook an expedition to the Temple of the Stone Moon. There, they discovered an orb which gave Mandus visions of the 20th century and its wars. Horrified, Mandus sacrificed his sons on the temple's steps in a bid to spare them from grisly deaths during the Battle of the Somme. Mandus returned to England with the orb and began working to remake the world and avert the coming wars by constructing the Machine.
