Illuminatus is an achievement in the Steam and Xbox versions of the game Amnesia: The Dark Descent and the Amnesia: Collection. In the Playstation version of Collection, it exists as a gold Trophy. Illuminatus is a missable skill task achievement, gained by performning an unusual action in the game.
Overview[]
Illuminatus is achieved by picking up every single possible tinderbox throughout Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It requires that the player very carefully ensure that they do not pass through without grabbing every single one, as there are several places in The Dark Descent which prevent Daniel from going back the way he came. Any playthrough where a tinderbox is missed must be reloaded at a save or must be started over again.
Furthermore, getting Illuminatus also requires that the player not play on The Dark Descent's Hard Mode, as the achievement requires the player to pick up a number of tinderboxes across the game, while Hard Mode never spawns them as part of its increased difficulty level.
