An acquaintance of Daniel's, Herbert was one of the leaders of the ill-fated African expedition.
Information
Herbert organized the expedition, following a tip from a benefactor about a tomb in the African desert. Daniel was later sent back to England by Herbert following the collapse, and subsequent clearing, of the tomb door.
As the expedition was later attacked by the Shadow, it is likely that Herbert was killed.
