History

Early life

Almost nothing is known about Khalid’s early life. But it can be presumed that he was of a non-French nationality, due to his service in the French Foreign Legion, and due to the legion’s traditional requirement of taking pseudonyms, it is possible that “Khalid” is not his real name.

Algerian posting

At some point, Corporal Khalid joined the French garrison at Al-Mamaru Fort.

Fall of Al-Mamaru Fort

On the 19th of March, 1929, Legio. Desrosiers and the Quartermaster, Cpl. Delacroix, went missing. It was originally assumed that they were hiding in the cistern until Khalid found Desrosiers dead in the cellar three days later. The rest of the garrison assumed that Desrosiers and Delacroix got into an argument that turned violent, leading to Delacroix accidentally killing Desrosiers, and then deserting. Khalid’s exact fate is unknown, but he most likely committed suicide or was slaughtered as the Ghouls overran the fort.
